Drawing Information

Drawing Information is concerned with our relationship with information and the part that the individual plays within this system. The information used is arbitrary and is a metaphor for information in its broadest sense. The installation consists of three pieces, each of which requires a different type of interaction.

Open Eye is a video of a human eye which reacts to a remote light sensor. This is a simple closed system and functions much like a painting, to be contemplated.

Pipeline is a corridor with a screen to one end, which engages when somebody enters. A sensor captures a silhouette of the user and projects it in real time onto the screen. The user will realise that the information that they contribute to the system is processed before it is displayed.

Ghosting consists of a wall covered with a projection of thousands of particles with collision detection. They react to each other and to anyone entering the space. In a separate part of the space, shapes made by people moving through this area are displayed building up a picture over the course of the exhibition.
